Linux and opensource
I'll admit it right now, I don't like Windows. I dealt with Microsoft operating systems from 1992 to 2007. And that was enough.
On the other hand, if you use your computer as a gaming console, then Windows is the best operating system. Or if you're using some specialized software, like from Adobe. Otherwise, I don't see many reasons to use Windows. Just the idea that you have to have a Microsoft account to use Windows. They spy you, they crash, they are demanding on system resources.
Linux is freedom for me. I can choose from dozens of distributions. You download the ISO, flash it to USB stick, boot, install, and that's it. You don't like it? Then you download another distribution. You don't have to register anywhere, you don't need an account, you don't have to agree to the license terms.
